Accessibility, Innovation, and Inclusion: Our Thoughts Ahead of MoodleMoot Canada 2025

By Gavin Henrick – Brickfield Education Labs
As we get ready for another exciting MoodleMoot Canada, we at Brickfield Education Labs are reflecting on why this event matters so much — not just to us, but to the entire Moodle community.
At its heart, a MoodleMoot is about connection: sharing ideas, tackling challenges, and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in online education. It’s about meeting people who care deeply about learners and making learning environments better, smarter, and more inclusive.
Why Accessibility Still Matters — Urgently

In 2025, digital accessibility isn’t just a “nice to have” — it’s essential. As more institutions move more of their learning content, delivery, and assessment online, we’ve seen how accessibility can be the difference between inclusion and exclusion.
But here’s the challenge: educators and administrators want to do the right thing — they just don’t always have the right tools.
That’s why we built the Brickfield Accessibility Toolkit. To support Moodle users in identifying, fixing, and preventing accessibility issues across courses — easily and effectively.
What We’re Looking Forward to

This year at MoodleMoot Canada, we’re excited to:
- Meet passionate educators and innovators.
- Listen to the real-world accessibility challenges you’re facing.
- Share how our Toolkit is helping Moodle sites around the world become more inclusive.
- Learn from your ideas, projects, and feedback.
Our goal isn’t just to showcase our product — it’s to grow a community of institutions committed to inclusive learning design.
Coming Soon: Something to Watch For
